Parkinson's Disease - Planning Ahead Virtual Symposium

Date & Time: Monday, April 29, 2024; 4 - 6 PM ET

Location: at home, via Zoom

Registration: Click here to register

From the time of diagnosis to its more advanced stages, people living with Parkinson’s may face a variety of challenges. We will be hosting this educational program focused on the challenges of people with moderate to advanced Parkinson’s disease. The program will discuss the concept of palliative care, some of the nonmotor symptoms of PD, care partner support, and advance care planning. We will also discuss how and when to consider other care options, including assisted living or hospice. The symposium will be led by staff at the Parkinson’s Foundation Center of Excellence at Massachusetts General Hospital. The program will feature Dr. Kate Brizzi, Director, MGH Neuropalliative Care program; Dr. Albert Hung, Center Director, MGH Parkinson’s Foundation COE; Dr. Grace Crotty, former MGH Palliative care champion, now a neurologist at Cork University Hospital in Ireland; Katrina Rudd, Clinical Social Worker; and Grace Bwala, MGH COE Coordinator.

Please note: All are welcome to attend, but the program will be geared toward people who have been living with Parkinson’s for a longer time and their care partners and family members. Please feel free to forward this message to others who may be interested. If you have any questions, please contact our Center Coordinator, Grace Bwala, by email (parkinsons@partners.org) or by phone (617-643-0654).
