StrivePD: A Wearable PD Tracker

Keeping track of symptom fluctuations can be challenging and time consuming. Manually keeping record of all of your symptoms is just not realistic for most people with Parkinson's. With the advancements in technology, this has changed! StrivePD, a new HIPPA-compliant software, allows people to track their symptoms right from their iPhone and Apple watch. How cool!

StrivePD automatically records data around tremor and dyskinesias. The software does include a manual tracking feature, but the only required effort on your part is setting up the device. This device allows you to automatically record data from your Apple Watch about dyskinesia, sleep patters, tremors, mobility, falls, gait, and more. Having information regarding OFF time be automatically tracked will help you more easily recognize patters that influence your OFF time and help your neurologist better prescribe treatment. It allows for self reported recording about medication timings, symptoms, and various other PD related factors. It allows DBS setting to be tracked to better understand the effect the settings have on your symptoms. It also maintains a record of your clinical history, which will make doctor appointments much easier.

There are several customizable features such as:

  • Set reminders for your medication

  • Automatically or manually record what medications and supplements you take according to your reminders

  • View reports from any time period regarding frequency of symptoms, missed medications, and exercise data

  • Add data from your Apple Watch like sleep, gait, and more

  • Manually record mood-based symptoms

  • Manually record treatment side effects

  • Manually record information around diet

  • Set reminders to charge your DBS battery

Good decisions are made with good data. Your neurologist will have a tougher time helping you if they don't have good data to make decisions from. You can use this information with your exercise class instructor if you have been struggling in class, with your physical/occupational/speech therapist, with your primary care provider, and with just about any other health care provider you see.

"To access StrivePD and see how it can simplify collecting data to help you manage Parkinson’s, download the app for free in the iOS App Store on your phone. For more information, you can also visit the StrivePD user guide or email support@runelabs.io."
