Did you know that women and men face different challenges when diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease? Women tend to have more side effects of medications and greater changes in their symptoms during the day. Women not only tend to downplay their symptoms, but they also do not receive the same quality care as men. Women with PD are more likely to get a divorce than men, have greater changes in gastrointestinal function, are more likely to have tremors, and are more likely to have speech changes.
